How do I check the credibility of an article?

I'm working on an assignment, and my teacher says I need to use trustworthy and reliable sources. How can I figure out if an article is a good one to use?

Answer

Figuring out if an article is trustworthy is really important. Here are some quick tips:

  • Who wrote it? Check the author. Are they an expert or connected to a trusted group?
  • Where is it from? Is it published in a reliable place like a known website, journal, or news source?
  • Does it back things up? Look for sources or references. Good articles show where they got their information.
  • Is it fair? Watch for bias. Does it show all sides, or is it trying to push one opinion?
  • Is it recent? Check the date to see if the info is still useful and up-to-date.
