How do I do citations?

I have to write a paper for my class, and I don't know how to do citations for it. Can you help?

Answer

There are a few different citation styles, including MLA, APA, Chicago, and ASA. Within each citation style, there are two different kinds of citations. First, there are in-text citations, which are citations that belong in the body of the paper after you quoted, summarized, or paraphrased a source. Second, there are full reference citations that are gathered together on a separate page at the end of paper, and in the case of Chicago Style also in footers.

Determining how to cite a source will depend on the citation style your course uses as well as the kind of source you're using.
